Previous student’s feedback:
“Lisa and Arielle taught a wonderful workshop! Lisa’s ability to give clear and helpful instructions with the bookbinding speaks to her skill and expertise. The way that both Lisa and Arielle modeled vulnerability in all moments of the day was a great invitation for me to go deeper into the practice as well. Arielle created a beautiful space for all of us to explore and reflect as we entered the journaling process. I would recommend this workshop to anyone, no matter their experience with bookbinding and journaling!” -Aethena
“Such a wonderful way to spend a day. Arielle and Lisa are both clear, easy to follow, and lovely. I highly recommend this experience!” -Kristin
“I loved the workshop! It was a perfect mix of simple bookbinding and journaling. The instruction was great. The workshop challenged me to think about journaling in new ways and I left feeling inspired to both make more books and develop more of a journaling practice.” -Anon
Meet your hosts!
Arielle Jessop is a mixed media artist and Art Therapist. She has been practicing journaling in one form or another most of her life. She will be guiding this workshop through the creative input portion of class; focusing on self-reflection, overcoming perfectionism and incorporating image and text in a journaling practice.
Lisa Hersey is a bookbinder who has been practicing professionally for over 10 years. She understands how precious people treat new books and journals and is excited to bring this book structure to a workshop to help break that clean white page feeling.
